Marina – Head of Section

When you grow with the company you believe in, you’re at the heart of it. Read about how Marina has seized learning opportunities and built her career with us.

The Story

At DNV, we believe that careers don’t have to follow a straight line. For Marina, that belief has shaped a fifteen year journey of growth, learning, and leadership.

Starting small. Thinking big.

Fifteen years ago, Marina joined DNV as a Programme Administrator supporting small business initiatives in Michigan. Today, she leads those very same programmes as Head of Section. This progression wasn’t just a matter of time - it was a demonstration of how we encourage internal mobility and professional development. “Career paths here are not always linear, and that’s by design,” Marina shares. “There are always opportunities to keep learning and take on new challenges.”

Driving impact. Delivering value.

In her current role, Marina is responsible for managing the performance, quality, and customer engagement of our small business programmes. A typical day involves coordinating with teams, analysing data, managing projects, and supporting trade allies. It’s work that directly contributes to energy savings, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. “I’m proud to be part of something that delivers real value to our clients and helps small businesses thrive.”

Feeling supported. Staying inspired.

At DNV, we foster a culture where people feel valued and heard. For Marina, that support makes all the difference. “When you feel supported, it’s easier to do your best,” she says. The inclusive environment, collaborative spirit, and respect among colleagues are key to how she shows up every day. “It’s the mix of the culture and the people that makes DNV special.”

Learning every day. Leading with confidence.

Professional development is embedded in our everyday here at DNV. From training programmes to mentorship and certifications, Marina has benefited from resources that encourage growth and curiosity. “The support I’ve received has helped me not just grow within my role, but also explore different areas of the company,” she explains. “Our commitment to employee development is one of the key reasons DNV is such a great place to build a long-term career.”

Advice for future colleagues

“If you’re considering a role at DNV, make sure it’s something you’re genuinely passionate about,” Marina advises. “Understand the field, ask questions, and be open to learning. This industry is always evolving, and we offer plenty of opportunities to grow. Stay curious and never stop developing yourself.”
